With her sharp eye for detail and perseverance for traditional techniques, Amita has created innumerable intricate pieces, domes, frames and furniture, that have led to the conservation and propagation of the crafts. Her art and talent have been recognised by the Government of India and she has been conferred the National Award, in the year 2008, for her Stone Dust Painting. For the year 2017 she has been selected for the most coveted award of Shilp Guru by The Ministry of Textile, Government of India. The Ceremony was scheduled to be held on 7th August 2020. It could not take place because of COVID 19 and the same has been postponed.
